European 2012 Draw

Similar to the World Cup draw Ireland have been drawn in Group C. We will face Spain, Croatia and Italy.

Euro 2012

We will play all of our Group C games in Poland, we kick off our finals campaign against Croatia in Poznan on 10 June and then travel to Gdansk on the 14th June to face the World Champions Spain, before travelling back to Poznan for our final group game against Italy on 18 June. 

The two top teams from each group will qualify for the quarter finals. Games from this point onwards will be played on a straight knock out basis

The first and he quarter-finals will be played from June 21 to 24th. The semi-finals will be played on June 27 and 28 and the final will be played in Kiev on July 1st.

The first and second placed teams in our group will play against first and second in Group D in the quarter-finals. These two matches will be played in the Ukraine.

 

The Full Euro 2012 Draw

Group A: Poland, Greece, Czech Republic, Russia.

Group B: Holland, Germany, Denmark, Portugal.

Group C: Spain, Italy, Croatia, Ireland.

Group D: Ukraine, France, Sweden, England.

World Cup 2014 Ireland Drawn In Group C

Ireland have been drawn in Group C with Germany, Sweden, Austria, Faroe Islands and Kazakhstan for the qualification stage of FIFA World Cup 2014. 

Qualifying games will be played between 7th September and 15th October 2013. 

The group winners will automatically qualify for the finals with the eight best runners-up competing in four two leg play offs with the winners progressing to the World Cup finals in 2014.

Ireland are currently ranked 29th in the world. This is a climb of four places from August 2011. Our best position was in December 1992 when we were ranked 9th in the world.
